Due to his courageous act, the City & County of Honolulu recognized JEM’s Training Specialist Stephen “Oi” Obrien with a Certificate of Commendation on June 16th, 2023.
Oi took direct action in saving a life. Mr. Obrien was at his Judo practice when his fellow teammate went into cardiac arrest. Immediately, Oi performed his duty to provide care.
With his knowledge and training background, he performed CPR using the skills and knowledge that he teaches in lifeguard classes for Aulani, where he works with JEM.
Oi’s heroic act of duty had an outcome of his fellow teammate having the ability to see another day and move forward with his life. Oi is a great advocate for our Hawai’i team and continues to create great team members at the Disney Aulani Resort & Spa.
